In 2025, the educational project in memory of the plane crash was addressed to all the 127 students in the eighth grade of Dante Alighieri school of Olgiate Olona.

 

Commemoration of 66^th anniversary of the plane crash

 

On Thursday June 26, 2025, at 5.33 pm in the Town hall, the community of Olgiate Olona will commemorate the 66^th anniversary of the plane crash. The international prayer in suffrage will propose a biblical passage on hope (theme of the Jubilee 2025 of the Catholic Church) taken from the book of Lamentations and a poem by the Protestant pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer (executed by the Nazis in Flossenbürg in 1945). Following: the speech of mayor Giovanni Montano, the award ceremony of the authors of the most deserving works of the 15^th edition of the educational project in memory of June 26, 1959, the presentation of the book La memoria del 26 giugno 1959 perpetuata dai giovani olgiatesi. Il progetto didattico 2010-2025 e gli elaborati meritevoli premiati (trans. The memory of June 26, 1959, perpetuated by the young people of Olgiate Olona.
